R.I.P.S
started off as a hobby when I built my
first skyline as a road
race car.
When it was 90% finished a guy came along and purchased it at a price
I could not refuse.
The same thing happened with the next car and about the next 20 skylines
I promised to keep for myself.
The hobby is now a full time job, we employ 3 full time staff for fabricating
and mechanical work and all of us here at R.I.P.S eat, sleep and breath
skylines and RB powered vehicles.
The first skyline we took to the drags for fun (R32 GTS4) was a very basic
complete street car with a stock internal motor and it ran mid 12's.
Within 6 months we were down to 10.2 and had won 14 meetings in a row,
both the Idrag and Nightwars Pro street championship titles and the 4
and rotary Nationals.
The engine in this car had 100% stock internals and made 750hp, it is
still in a road car today and has been untouched since it was first built
in 2003.
From there we started to specialise in the RB30 engine, building 2wd and
4wd versions for guys wanting reliable torquey engines in the 450hp to
1200hp range.
As a driver, I now have more
than twice as many current import drag racing records than
any other import driver in New Zealand.
Cars from the UK have been sent in containers for us to tune/upgrade,
customers are saving huge money
and getting comparable, if not better results than our European competitors
can provide.
